I left the Croatian border control and rode a short distance to the Bosnia border. There I stopped and saw an older Customs officer sitting at a small table just outside the Customs office, smoking and have a coffee (one of those short turkish coffees.) From the office a young customs officer approaches me, looks at my motor cycle and asks me for my papers. With out a problem I give him my Passport, motorcycle registration papers and insurance papers. He looks at me and we start a short conversation (I speak the language) he tells me to wait and disappears into the office. He's probably going to be a while considering the different names and countries associated with my documents.
I pull out my map and check the route I will take. I ask the older customs office about the route I'm taking and he informs me that a bit of work has been done to the road to Trebinje.
I'm a little apprehensive considering I riding into a portion of Bosnia that I've never been to. After about 15 minutes the young Customs officer comes out and tells me everything is in order.
I'm on my bike and off to Trebinje. After a short distance I get my first surprise. Its the road. Its single lane in both directions, but the surprising thing is that its looks like it was just finished not long ago. Its a great smooth surface. As I start riding the apprehension I fell at the border is starting to disappear, why? The road's starting to become good fun. Its not a straight road and there is no traffic. The road becomes twisty with a lot of bends, I just have to be careful because someone hasn't cleared the shrubs and tress next to the road so visibility was poor on the corners and I'm hoping some type of farm animal doesn't stroll onto the road, but it's still a lot of fun.
I get to Trebinje, turn left at the sign that reads, Mostar. Its good long sweeping bends, to the town of Stolac. Then to Buna before I get to Mostar. In the city of Mostar I find a cafe near the famous 'Mostar bridge' where i park and have some lunch. I go for a walk to the bridge, the immediate area around it is made for the tourists, restaurant, cafes and souvenir shops. After my visit its back on the bike and off to Sarajevo.
I now riding towards the town of Konjic and after I short time I get my next surprise. I want to stop, the scenery has changed. I am now riding through the "NERETVA canyon" along the river 'Neretva' The scenery is superb and I just want to stop every 100 metres but I'm enjoying the road so much. Eventually I stop and stop a few times to admire this amazing country that I'm sure no many have seen, experienced or understand.
I continue to the town of Konjic where I stop to rest and reflect on the road I've just ridden. I sat down and wondered to myself why I hadn't seen more bikes.
Its back on the motorcycle and the 80kms to Sarajevo. I'm thinking is now just a slow relaxing ride to the city. I ride out of Konjic and its now a slow uphill climb, single lane in both directions. But only for a little while, then my side of the road opened up into two lanes, up hill, very good surface and twisty bends all the way to the top. Time to have a little fun. Once I get to the top of the mountain I go through a tunnel and its down the mountain to the out skirts of Sarajevo. A bit of roadworks are underway and traffic is getting heavy. So its a slow cruising ride into historical Sarajevo.

The road Brgat (Croatia) to Trebinje (Bosnia) is not shown on Google maps this is why this route was started at Trebinje. Also when I got to the town of Stolac I rode to the town of Buna before I went onto the City of Mostar. Again Google maps doesn't have this road mapped.

The road from Brgat to Trebinje was suprisingly good, the road was either new or resealed. It's a long winding road all the way to Trebinje with few tight corners. Single lane in both directions.

Towards Mostar, again its long sweeping roads, most of it in very good condition the rest of the road is in average condition with a few parts of it is being prepared for resurfacing. Its all single lane in both directions with a lot of opportunity to over take. The few cars I did see, did do some go speeds and I didn't see any Police here.

Out of Mostar and the road to Konjic is amazing, your riding through the "NERETVA Canyon" and parallel to the river "NERETVA" the road is superb and the surface is great. Its single lane in both directions with a lot of over taking opportunities.

Once in Konjic like any city you have slow down. From here you have 80 km to Sarajevo, once your out of Konjic you have a slow climb up before you get to to what I called the fun portions. Here it becomes an up hill climb and the road becomes two lanes going up and its great fun. Its a good sealed surface with a lot of twists and turns.
Once you get to the top you go through a tunnel and it's down the mountain. Then it's a slow easy cruise into historical Sarajevo.
