Rides

The festivities begin at the bar on Sunday afternoon.

While Most of the English contingent is fashionably late, some participants show up a day or two early to do some local riding, drink some of the local brew and sit in the hot tub. If you can do this it gets you into the right spirit for the main event. In fact, Les Saisies is a mountain bike hotspot for any of you that are interested in alternative two wheeled adventure. You can rent downhill bikes in the village and the ski lifts carry you to the top.

On ride days we try to start before 8.30 and plan to be back to base before beer-o-clock, Call it 17.00, but this is subject to how many breaks you take during the day and if you choose to ride a the long or shortened route.

Road books are subject to modification depending on weather, events on the day and most importantly how long and hard the majority want to ride. We will set a mid-day meeting point for both rides and offer a short route option for those who do not want to do the whole ride on the day and would rather get back promptly for beer o’clock.

On Wednesday, groups depart in different directions- some go home, some do post EMMs. I am happy to lead a post EMM to the Swiss magic triangle, which is one of the finest bike circuits in the world!

I have two road-books prepared- but they are in google maps. At the moment they will not display as many of the roads we are going to use are currently closed for the winter.

The 1st is a southern route that will include Cormet de Roselend and Col de l'Iseran.

The 2nd is a northern ride that will take in both the Gt St Bernard, the Petit St Bernard and take in a bit of Italy, for coffee, and Switzerland in route.

Both routes will provide some of finest scenery and best riding roads available.

Final Road-

books and GPS files should go up no later than June 1st- I just need to work with our resident pilot to prepare the GPS files.
